Thermal imaging technology is revolutionizing firefighting in Bangladesh by enhancing visibility in low-light and smoke-filled environments. These devices help firefighters locate trapped victims, detect hidden fire hotspots, and navigate safely through hazardous areas.
Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (BFSCD) has started adopting thermal imaging cameras (TICs) for more efficient fire rescue operations. These cameras allow firefighters to identify fire sources behind walls, detect gas leaks, and improve decision-making in emergency situations.
Despite the benefits, limited access to high-quality thermal imaging devices and cost constraints remain challenges. Expanding the use of thermal imaging technology, combined with firefighter training in advanced fire detection methods, will significantly enhance emergency response and minimize casualties in Bangladesh.
