Annual inspections are your first line of protection against equipment failure, maintenance, and downtime. Routine inspections are the most effective and cost-effective preventative maintenance for expanding the life of your equipment while preserving operating efficiency and uptime. As a result, our skilled and experienced team provides annual inspections service in accordance with recommended practices for Electrical Equipment Maintenance National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70B.
PICO Lab’s Annual Inspection Service Capabilities
PICO Labs provide Annual Inspection services for all types of circuit breakers, transformers & other protective instruments. With the help of the 15000A Primary Current Injector, we can simulate the real time-tripping for any type of breakers. We also use a 15KV insulation tester, Hipot tester, micro ohm meter, power quality analyzer, thermal Imager, and Earthing tester for testing all related testing. PICO Labs provide the Annual Inspection service according to NFPA 70B. While conducting these services our experienced team uses precise instruments and Injects parameters by following IEC 60947 as well as IEC 60898 Standard.
This kind of service helps to control quality, reduce manufacturing costs, reduce rejection losses, and prevent equipment failures and worker injuries. We had already performed several high voltage services according to NIRAPON & RSC (previously known as Alliance & ACCORD) requirements with an in-house experienced team & precise instruments at a few well-known Bangladeshi and Multinational Companies. We provided this service in several factories successfully with limited shutdown time.
What Is Inspected During an Annual Maintenance Inspection?
The types of services we offered are given below:
Circuit Breaker Testing
Circuit Breakers are the heart of the industry. They protect the system from any unconditional fault. But they also require inspection and testing at least once a year. Not only circuit breakers, but also transformers and other related protective instruments should be tested annually. Generally, Air Circuit breakers (ACB), Vacuum Circuit breakers (VCB), and Molded Case Circuit breakers (MCCB) are tested during an annual inspection service.

Contact resistance test of Circuit Breaker
In Contact Resistance Testing DC Current is injected through the breaker main contact system. Before Injecting DC current it has to ensure that the circuit breaker is closed, then voltage drop is measured so that resistance can be calculated. The resistance reflects the condition of the conducting parts. For testing contact resistance, we are using

Contact Resistance can occur between contacts of:

Insulation Resistance Testing of High Voltage Circuit Breaker
In order to reduce the chances of an accident in a circuit breaker, the Insulation resistance should be within a proper range. We conducted our Insulation service using precise 15KV and 10KV Insulation tester.

Tripping Test of Circuit Breaker
By conducting the trip test, it is possible to determine whether there are mechanical or electrical issues present in the circuit Breaker. In the trip test, we inject current using a primary current injector which depends on the rating and types of the circuit breaker. After injecting current we observe how much time is taken by the circuit before tripping.

Power Quality Analysis
The NFPA 70B and IEEE Power Quality Standards are excellent resources for identifying power quality. terms, errors, and remedial actions. Our certified Engineers conduct power quality services according to these standards. our experienced Engineers know how and where to measure in order to gain precise insight into a plant’s power distribution. PICO Labs offers an extensive power analysis solution that will allowing you to identify power issues currently occurring and take corrective action or stop them from happening in the future. Our Engineers use world-class equipment to measure multiple parameters in real-time during power quality analysis.

Transformer Testing

The transformer turns ratio test compares the number of turns in one transformer winding to the number of turns in the other windings of the same phase of that transformer. The vectorial interactions between the various transformer windings are determined by the transformer polarity test. Both an acceptance test and a maintenance test are performed using the transformer ratio test.
Insulation Resistance Testing
Insulation resistance testing is a non-destructive method of determining the resistance of an insulation system. The test determines the resistance of the insulation between the phases or between the phases and the earth. A routine program of insulation resistance testing is strongly advised to avoid electrical shocks, ensure staff safety, and minimize or eliminate downtime. It helps in the detection of insulation damage, allowing for the scheduling of repair activities such as vacuum cleaning, drying, and rewinding. Additionally, it is beneficial when check the quality of repairs performed prior to resuming the operation of the equipment.
Insulation testing allows you to pinpoint electrical concerns before a fire or system shutdown takes place. The professionals at PICO Labs will visit your facility at a time convenient for you to complete a non-destructive test. It enables you to conduct schedule repairs and maintenance visits to prevent electrical shocks in the workplace.

Earthing Testing
The earth resistance is the resistance of the earth electrode to the flow of electricity into the ground. Earthing is critical to the safe and proper operation of any electrical installation. Regular inspections are required to ensure sufficient earthing resistance.
PICO Lab’s highly qualified team uses knowledge, and expertise in order to test and analyze earthing systems in accordance with BS EN 50522 as well as other alternative methods, dependent on the application. We can measure earthing resistance by using both the stake-type and clamp-type methods. We are conducting this test according to IEEE standard 81-2012.
Thermography Survey
Thermal imaging survey data analysis enables you to identify potential problems before they become serious. PICO Lab’s provides independent specialist thermography services to around all the districts of Bangladesh. We have over 8 years’ experience in thermal imaging, providing professional services to leading companies in Bangladesh.
Vibration Analysis
One of the earliest signs of a machine's health in the field of mechanical maintenance is vibration. Vibration analysis is a tried-and-true technique for spotting and avoiding equipment flaws. PICO Labs have an experienced team of Vibration Experts as well as high-quality and precise equipment. Our equipment has 30 years of inbuilt vibration analysis data, which is why it can detect what is the problem of the equipment using its tri-axial sensor and it can also suggest what will be the recommended action.

Hipot Test
To make sure that current moves freely between points, hipot testing is required. The cable's integrity and capacity to withstand high voltages of a specific amount of electricity are verified by the test.
